Review: FabFitFun Spring 2020

fff-spring-2020-full.png

Last fall, I signed up for FabFitFun (Even though I’m not their target demographic.) That said, I love me some skincare, and home goods, and have friends who appreciate the palettes and other makeup products they get when they come in my box.

For the first time since joining, I did the math on this box. I couldn’t believe that I got all these products (a $335 value) for only $50. I know that sounds so salesy — and no, this isn’t sponsored — but it’s true. It’s a great deal for someone who appreciates trying new products vs. sticking with a tried-and-true.

Because I usually end up giving away a small portion of the box, and I’ve found a few go-to’s from past boxes, I decided to pause my membership after this spring edition. Plus, I’ve got more skincare than I know what to do with. Should we do a giveaway?

Let’s dive in — Here’s what came in my last FFF box:

I recently became obsessed with packing cubes — hey London— and quickly learned their value. The options to choose from were cute but a little too flowery for me, so these went to Amanda. Before I shipped them off, I took a look at them and they’re actually so cute and surprisingly well-made. Def. better than my Amazon Basics. Ha.

Yum! This lotion smells so good! While I can’t comment on it helping me sleep better, I can attest to its power to make you feel very zen. Rubbing it in, I found that it was a nice texture, and left me feeling like I’d just left the spa. I’d use it again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find it — or pay list price.

I skipped this product as it didn’t bring me instant joy.

Ali’s Review: “I really liked the hair mask. It wasn’t oily, and didn’t have a lot of scent — which I actually liked. I have drier hair and it made it feel way more moisturized, and I’ve noticed less breakage. I’d buy it.”

I skipped this product as it didn’t bring me instant joy.

Ali’s Review: “This smells incredible! It’s like a spa-quality aromatherapy treatment. It’s been really good for trouble spots — knees, elbows, and ankles — and a good lotion replacement. I’d buy again, 100%. It’s really a new favorite.”

Disclaimer: I’ve only tested this on the back of my hand (because I don’t want to freak out my skin with too many products in one week) and so far: It does what it’s supposed to. It smells good, exfoliates well, and left my skin feeling freshly buffed. I liked, but would probably grab something from my Kiehl’s collection before this. I’ll let you know if that changes after I try it on my face. Stay tuned.

I was super stoked to have the option to pick the Glo treatment light. While I haven’t noticed a difference in my fine lines (Thank you, 30), I feel like it could be working. Maybe it’s the placebo effect, or maybe that I just enjoy the soft warm glow sinking into my skin. I’ll continue to use it, and report back what I find.

These are actually amazing. I’ve recently been trying to use metal straws (for the turtles, sksksk) but the shriek of the metal straw on metal Diet Coke can — murder. These fold up (into the little pill-shaped carrier), make no noise, and wash super easily. Even though they can get a little linty, I’d recommend.

This set comes with a handful of each type of mask — an exfoliating, hydrating brown sugar scrub and a purifying mud mask — both feel luxurious. Especially when using the silky soft brush to paint it on. Though my skin has never felt more supple after the combo, I preferred the mud, and would opt to purchase just that one in the future.

There’s still time to order your spring box. Use my link to save $10 on your first box and get all this for just $40.

Again, these are my first impressions. To stay in the loop on my long-term thoughts, follow me on Instagram and keep an eye on my stories. See you there!
